23", 5.56 "Varmint" Upper Receiver Assembly

The Pilot Mountain Arms “Varmint” AR-15 upper receiver assembly was designed from the start with long-range prairie dog shooting in mind. We have worn out some dog towns in Wyoming with these super accurate uppers with consistent accuracy out to 750 yards using 50 grain, factory varmint ammo. Every Pilot Mountain Arms “Varmint” upper is test fired and supplied with a test target showing sub-MOA accuracy.

• 23'', 1:8” twist, heavy weight, stainless match grade barrel from one of America’s premier barrel makers. 5.56/223 Wylde chamber and M-4 style barrel extension for ultimate accuracy and reliability. Muzzle has 11 degree target crown. Barrel diameter is .875 at the muzzle.
• Rifle length gas system with low profile gas block
• Upper receiver is machined from Billet 7075 T6 aluminum with increased wall thickness and no forward assist for added rigidity. Mil-spec type 3 hard coat anodized finish, shell deflector and M4 feed ramp cuts. Ready to mate to any mil spec lower.
• 15" CMMG free float, modular handguard with plenty of rail space for your mission essential equipment
• Mil-spec parkerized Bolt Assembly
• Bolt machined from Carpenter 158 steel and is Magnetic Particle Inspected (MPI). Following the machining process, the Bolt is heat treated and shot peened.
• Extractor includes a black rubber insert with spring.
• Bolt Carrier machined from hardened 8620 steel with gas key screws properly torqued and staked. The interior of each bolt carrier key is chrome lined.
